If you weren’t at the 2018 Annual AHECTA Conference in Columbus this past week, here’s what you missed:

• our informative, exclusive tours of OSU Stadium and the BuckeyeTV Student Television station;

• the insightful and incisive perspective of Liv Gjestvang, who’s led OSU in their impressive Digital Flagship initiative over the past year;

• presentations and panels on the growth and future of the educational broadband; using video to engage students; building brand affection with social media; the always-informative Student Monitor update of student trends; supporting and troubleshooting laser projection technology; building and understanding the technology behind enhanced learning spaces; best practices in accessibility; scaling your live streaming efforts; preparing your campus network for the unique demands of video multicasting; and distributing video signals through HFC, QAM, and IP;

• invaluable 1-on-1 face time with the biggest and best corporate players in the higher education video and communications technology arena;

• the annual AHECTA Student Production Award live presentation and judging;

• meeting and talking with your fellow higher ed tech professionals at AHECTA’s candid and collegial sponsored receptions, PLUS free time to connect on your own, on and around the vibrant OSU campus.

More importantly, though, if you weren’t at AHECTA 2018, we missed you. We don’t want to miss you at AHECTA 2019! Which is why we’re already working hard on ways to bring even more value to your AHECTA membership for the rest of 2018, 2019, and beyond. Keep your eyes on your inbox for upcoming announcements from your AHECTA leadership.

On behalf of my fellow volunteer AHECTA Directors, we’re looking forward to working with you!
