2018 marks the start of a new year, for all of us and for AHECTA, too! New beginnings, a chance to change and adapt, and to improve collaboration and communication among academic peers and corporate vendors to find innovative solutions to challenging video and distribution issues. As part of this new beginning, we are proud to share our new official logo as the Association for Higher Education Communications Technology Advancement. There’s a seal logo, a banner logo, and a social media logo:

The new AHECTA logo was designed by Jasmine Lang, of North Carolina State University.

AHECTA Acronym Redefinition

Posted on August 30th, 2017 in Featured Articles | No Comments

It’s been twenty years since AHECTA began as the Association of Higher Education Cable Television Administrators. In those twenty years, the use of video on campus has grown beyond the relatively simple scope of cable TV. So, too, have our responsibilities in our institutions and our companies evolved, into more diverse areas of video application. To acknowledge the change of focus of video technologies on campus from one service to many, AHECTA is changing our acronym, what defines us to the world at large. To make that change, we want your feedback.

On Wednesday, August 30, 2017, all AHECTA members in good standing should have received an invitation to the latest AHECTA Members’ Survey, with options for a new acronym definition. This survey will close on September 14, 2017. Make your voice heard by answering the survey today!

If you have not received the AHECTA acronym survey, please contact Jim Manke, AHECTA’s chief management officer, at jrmanke-at-associationsolutions-dot-com.
