Each year AHECTA pays tribute to the upcoming talent and creativity displayed by students at our member institutions through the Annual Student Productions Awards. Now in its 9th year, the SPAs continue to grow as an integral part of the annual Campus Cable Conference. Click here to check out the 2007 winners!

Submissions were considered in the following categories:

Best Student Short: From the dramatic to the comedic absurd, students can always be found crafting imaginative ideas and long-held passions to short production works for use in academic course work and to satisfy their own creative desires. The SPAs seek the most ingenious and inspired works for consideration.

Best News/Sports Feature: Local student reporting drives many productions and student stations on-campus. It takes a well-packaged, original or thought-provoking story to truly capture an audience.

Best Branding/Graphics Package:  Even the best student stations and production efforts can benefit exceedingly from a key branding effort or catching clip.

Best Student Run Campus TV Network: Does your campus channel have what it takes to be the best among its AHECTA peers? Highlight original programming, features, broadcasting set-up, graphics samples, and/or provide a voiceover stating what sets your channel apart from the rest. AHECTA shines the spotlight on the top campus system of CCC2007 with a traveling trophy honoring current and past winners.

Winners of the Best News/Sports Feature and Student Short Categories receive a $500 cash prize.

The Student Production Awards are open to all undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at AHECTA member institutions.

AHECTA encourages member institutions to promote the SPA Awards among student production groups and departments. Enable and encourage students to not miss out on the chance to further showcase their abilities and craft.
